The United States Congress has made history by passing major
health insurance reform legislation Sunday night. It is the single
largest piece of legislation since the Civil and Voting Rights Acts
and the passage of Medicare – health care for the elderly.
The achievement is not perfect but it’s a good step towards the
ultimate goal of true health care for all Americans, and it makes
major improvements to reign in out-of-control health care costs
driven by corporate profits instead of by compassion for people.
This historic moment would not have happened without the hard work
of Workers Uniting and other unions. Click
