Industriall and UNI Global Union contributed to the creation of a union in one of Kimberly Clark’s plants in Colombia. This union forms part of SINTRAPULCAR, affiliated to UNI.
The union has been organized with the aim of enforcing labor and trade union rights in the company.
As expressed by the workers and their leaders, this is a victory achieved after several unsuccessful attempts to establish a union. During this process, many workers lost their jobs and have commenced legal proceedings to recover them.
In August 2010 UNI signed a Social Dialogue agreement with Kimberly Clark which is monitored by a Management Committee (made up of companies, unions (including the United Steelworkers and Unite) and UNI representatives which meets annually. Meanwhile, UNI has established a union network composed of Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, United States, European and Asian countries. The network invokes Workers Uniting unions, USW and Unite.
Comrades from the National Union of Paper, Pulp and Cardboard Workers (SINTRAPULCAR), UNI and Industriall have expressed their satisfaction with the creation of the new union in a multinational company from the Packaging sector in Colombia, as this strengthens efforts in social dialogue and respect for human rights in this country.

Industriall y UNI Sindicato Global contribuyeron a la formación de un sindicato en una de las plantas de Kimberly Clark en Colombia. Este sindicato forma parte de SINTRAPULCAR, afiliado a UNI.
El sindicato se ha organizado con el objetivo de hacer respetar los derechos laborales y sindicales en esta empresa.
Según han expresado los trabajadores y sus dirigentes este es una victoria lograda después de varios intentos de establecer, sin éxito, un sindicato. En este derrotero, hay trabajadores que perdieron sus empleos y están en procesos judiciales para recuperar sus puestos de trabajo.
En agosto del 2010 UNI firmó un acuerdo de Diálogo Social con Kimberly Clark, cuyo seguimiento se hace a través de un Comité de Gestión (integrado por empresas, sindicatos y representantes de UNI) que se reúne anualmente. Por su parte, UNI ha constituido una red sindical, integrada por Argentina, Brasil, Venezuela, Estados Unidos y países europeos y asiáticos.
Los compañeros del Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores del Papel, la Pulpa y Cartón (SINTRAPULCAR), UNI e Industriall han expresado su satisfacción por la formación de este nuevo sindicato en una empresa multinacional del sector del Embalaje en Colombia, ya que refuerza los esfuerzos en materia de diálogo social y respeto por los derechos humanos en este país.
