Workers Uniting supports union members in Colombia, the most dangerous country in the world for trade unionists.
Both the USW and Unite have been at the cutting edge of solidarity work in relation to Colombia. The USW brought the path-breaking legal cases against US multinational Drummond and Coca-Cola, while UNITE has spearheaded cooperation agreements with Colombian unions and campaigns to free political prisoners. Both unions have played a leading role in campaigns to block “free trade” agreements between Colombia and Canada, the United States, and the European Union.
Workers Uniting supports Justice for Colombia, a UK-based solidarity organization working to defend the human and labor rights of working people in Colombia.
